Pioneering £55m cell therapy lab could create 150 jobs in Stevenage

Date: 24/06/2015

The new facility, which would be built at the Stevenage Bioscience Catalyst site in Gunnels Wood Road, Stevenage, would open in 2017 and would research and manufacture cell therapies.

The treatment involves injecting patients with living cells, including – controversially – stem cells, however it is not known if these will form part of the facility's work.

Running it would be Cell Therapy Catapult, an organisation dedicated to promoting the growth of the treatment as an industry.
